Sewer Line Repair Program Terms and Conditions
Please print this Sales Agreement for your records.
The Sewer Line Repair Program (“Program”) covers either (1) a single clogged exterior residential sanitary sewer line from the foundation to the municipal sewer pipe or (2) a single clogged exterior residential septic line from the foundation up to the septic tank.
- Only sanitary sewer and/or septic lines located at a single family dwelling or duplex are eligible for coverage under the Program. Rain runoff pipes or gray water removal pipes are not covered. An accessible cleanout(s) installed to plumbing code is/are necessary. The Program does not snake sewer from roofs or through commodes. Customer may be responsible for installing missing or broken cleanouts.
- This is a repair program offered by Dominion Products and Services, Inc. (“Dominion”) and does not cover replacement of entire sewer or septic lines. An entire replacement is necessary if the sewer or septic line in question has more than two non-connected problems regardless of total length of the line.
- Coverage under the Program starts after the first payment is received and enrollment in the Program exceeds 30 days. Coverage continues thereafter so long as the customer makes timely payments. Customer payments prepay coverage under the Program. Coverage is suspended at the end of the prepaid period in cases of nonpayment. Customer's account must be in good standing (current) to receive repair service under this Program.
- The following are excluded from coverage under the Program: (1) pre-existing sewer line or septic line problems; (2) repairs required due to dye and/or smoke test failure or third party inspections of any kind; (3) septic tanks, sand mounds, or leech beds; (4) secondary sewage/septic lines away from primary dwelling; (5) damage to sewer/septic lines caused by the action of the customer or a third party or by other insurable-type cause; (6) municipal owned pipes; (7) commercial or common owned pipes; (8) damage due to an “Act of God”, (9) multiple line systems, branch lines; (10) removal of obstacles such as but not limited to porches, decks, trees, walls, etc. nor restoration of same (11) checks valves, back flow prevention, pumps or any other electrical or mechanical device.
- After the line is repaired, Dominion will provide basic site restoration service to the affected area. Such restoration is limited to filling in, raking, reseeding and patching paved surfaces. It does not include the restoration of trees, shrubs, or full replacement of paved surfaces or structures.
- Coverage under the Program will remain in force until terminated by either Dominion, or the customer. You may cancel your participation at any time.
- Dominion shall have the right to modify the Program, from time to time, and will provide thirty (30) days written notice of material changes. Dominion shall also have the right to terminate the Program on ninety (90) days written notice.
-
Dominion reserves the right to contract work to designated contractors on an as needed basis. Coverage is limited to $7,500 per occurrence.
- The customer:
- represents that to the best of his/her knowledge, the sewage/septic system is free from any pre-existing problems or malfunctions.
- authorizes the utility to provide Dominion with any information about this account.
- Dominion makes final judgment and reserves the right to establish coverage eligibility and/or inspect sewer to determine coverage eligibility within sixty (60) days of enrollment.
- Approved contractors must have safe access to, and safe working conditions at and around work area. Dominion disclaims responsibility for payment for work done by anyone other than a Dominion approved Sewer Line Repair Program contractor. In order for you to be eligible to receive coverage for a claim under the Program, you are required to notify Dominion of the claim condition before any remedial work is attempted on your sewer or septic line, either by you or any third party.
- Customer charges for the Program will appear on your monthly utility bill. If utility billing is not possible, payments can be pre-paid.
